MEET OUR INSTRUCTORS:
DANCE STUDIO FOUNDER / DIRECTOR: Kassandra Rateau
Kassandra specializes in high energy, Raw Hip-Hop, Step, Afro-Caribbean, Step, and performance skills. Kassandra believes in all of her students and always coaches to build confidence, motivation, endurance, precision as dancers and overall athletes.
In 2016, BCity Reps was created by MTVs Americas Best Dance Crew Contestant Kassandra Rateau. Hip Hop has been cemented in Kassandra’s life since her early childhood years. Born in Boston and raised in Brockton, she first began her leadership dance role in 2000 as co-founder of the Brockton High School Step Squad. In 2004, Kassandra transformed her positive energy and knowledge to the professional ranks by joining the Phunk Phenomenon Dance Company.
After 12years with Phunk Phenomenon, Kassandra decided to share her professional dance background to her community and create BCity Reps Dance Studio. BCity Reps consists of Male and Female talented dancers, ages 4 through adults.
Some of Kassandra’s accomplishments include serving as the dance coach for the Boston Celtics Jr. Dance Team (Lil Phunk), dancing for charitable events, opening for singer Miguel, performing at Boston’s #1 Hip Hop Radio Station’s Jamn 94.5 annual concert, Monster Jam, and many high profile corporate events.
Over the years, Kassandra has received numerous awards & medals from renown organizations like Hip Hop International Dance Competition and even placed 3rd on MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew- Season 6.
BCity Reps is available for performing and teaching at clubs, school/college events, charities, sporting events, Bat mitzvahs, weddings, and all special occasions.
A night out with your friends or family, surprise wedding dance for your wedding day, birthdays, etc. BCity provides private booking for all special occasions
BREAKDANCING INSTRUCTOR: BBoy Baldi
Baldi has been Breakdancing since he was a child. Baldi has been part of the BBoy Crew Ground FX for 17years and Del Fuego Wolf Pack for the last 5 years. Some of his accomplishments include performing for many charity events, school events, New Balance Fashion Show, Boston Celtics Halftime, two time Red Bull competitor(BBoy Event), and Carnival Cruise Lines-Fantasy , Destiny and Sensation for 3 years. Baldi has received awards from great organizations like Hip Hop International Dance Competition USA BBoy Champions Ground FX Crew.
CONTEMPORARY INSTRUCTOR: Felicia Costanzo
Felicia Costanzo from Stoughton Massachusetts has been dancing all her life since the age of three. For most of her Young adult life she was trained at the Starline Academy for the performing arts in Stoughton Massachusetts and competed on their competitive team for seven years. She’s danced all over New England winning scholarships such as the greater Brockton dance Association High Point ballet scholarship, as well as several invitationals to nationals along the years. She’s very excited to start this new chapter in her dance career and is extremely excited to meet her new students. Thank you so much for this opportunity.
CONTEMPORARY/MUSICAL THEATER/ TUMBLING: Giana Gualda
Giana Gualda is a Performing Arts major with a double concentration in Theatre and Dance. She has been dancing in studios since age 2 and continues to perform and train in the Stoneworks Dance Company at Stonehill College. Giana is passionate for the arts and wishes to share that love to her students.
AFRO-CARIBBEAN/ JAZZ FUNK: Nadiya Ledan Monestime
Nadiya Ledan Monestime has been choreographing and performing in talent shows since she was in elementary school. She began studying tap, jazz and ballet at a local Randolph studio at the age of twelve, and began teaching Hip-Hop classes during her Senior year of high school. In college, she joined the competitive Hip-Hop Dance Team and was co-captain during her Junior and Senior years. In 2011, Nadiya started a Dance Club at her charter school of employment, and through that, has also had the opportunity to choreograph Sweet Sixteen or quinceañera routines over the years. In 2013 Nadiya and Hilary MacDonald, won Raw Boston’s Performing Artist of the Year Award. Together they performed at various local events and festivals in the Greater Boston and beyond. In 2015, Nadiya joined DanceWorks Boston and completed three seasons with the company, two of which she choreographed pieces. Since then, Nadiya continues to pursue dance by continuing her after school dance club, taking classes, participating in different modeling and dance projects, and dancing at home with her husband and two sons. Her true passion for dance is rooted in Afro-Caribbean styles, mixed with a little sass, hip-hop and funk. She is excited to bring her own flavor and energy to BCity Reps, but more importantly to join the family!
ACRO/ TUMBLING: Destinee Alix- Garth
Destinee is a Health Science Undergrad Student at Stonehill College, with the intention of becoming a Physician’s Assistant.
Destinee has been dancing since the age of 2, but her passion for dance didn’t emerge until she was a part of Boston Celtics Junior Dance Team, Lil Phunk. As part of the dance team, she trained in the different dance styles of Hip Hop as well as Salsa. At the age of 11 years old, Destinee decided to continue her dance career at TDS Dance Company. During this time, she was apart of their elite competition team as well as their acrobatic team. Alongside competing at dance competitions, she trained in ballet, acrobatics, tumbling, tap, jazz, lyrical and contemporary dance. While dancing at her dance studio, Destinee was also a member of her high school dance team, Braintree High School Varsity Dance Team. Destinee was on the team for 3 years, and later became captain during her senior year of high school. She trained in Jazz, Contemporary as well as Pom. Currently, Destinee, is part of the Stonehill Dance Team. Destinee is extremely excited for this opportunity and cannot wait to meet all the kids!
